Security & consent
The standard we hold ourselves to.
Trust is earned in the details. These are the commitments we make before any file moves.
- 01
No-data-moves first assessment
Our first engagement never asks for a file, a login or an export. The Data Inventory is a conversation turned into a one-row-per-system map.
- 02
Consent before every introduction
We introduce a company only after an authorized person agrees in writing, naming the buyer.
- 03
Fee transparency
Before any introduction, we tell you in writing who pays us. Companies pay nothing upfront. Steamwire is compensated by the data buyer or partner when a deal closes.
- 04
Native exports, never third-party connectors
When preparation is in scope, your own administrator runs the platform's native export. Nothing is installed in your workspace, and you control what leaves.
- 05
Exclusions first
Whole categories come out before anything else: HR and personnel, health, privileged legal, payment card, children's data, customer-shared channels, and anything you don't have the right to license.
- 06
Consistent de-identification
People, companies and identifiers are replaced with consistent stand-ins, so the same person remains the same stand-in across systems. Relationships and timelines survive. Identities don't. A human reviews a sample. We describe this as de-identification and pseudonymization. The buyer's agreement with you sets the final terms.
- 07
Documented packages
Every package ships with a manifest, data dictionary, provenance record and checksums.
- 08
One path per company
We route each company to one buyer at a time. Exclusivity terms are common, and shopping a company around can cost it the deal.
- 09
Clean lines between engagements
An introduction and a preparation engagement are separate. For a given company, we do one of them.
- 10
Platform terms, flagged for counsel
We don't assume a platform permits a given use. Subject to your agreements and platform terms, which we'll flag for your counsel. We don't connect to your workspace.
- 11
Not legal advice, not the buyer, not an agent
We work alongside your attorneys. Steamwire Labs is not the buyer, and is not an agent of any AI lab or data vendor.
