For companies

Know what you have before anything moves.

For owners, CEOs and operators of established firms. A straight read on your operational record: what could be licensed, what stays out, and which single path makes sense. No files to start. Fees disclosed before anything proceeds.

Who this is for

Years of real work, in the systems you already run.

Established firms, often somewhere between a few dozen people and a few hundred, with years of operating history. Professional services, logistics, field services, finance, software, healthcare administration and others. The useful record is the one your team made by doing the work: email, chat, CRM, tickets, documents.

If the history is thin, or too much of it sits in categories that have to stay out, we will say so. A Data Inventory is allowed to end with “not now.”

The engagement

Five steps. You decide at each one.

  1. 01

    Conversation

A short call, under a mutual NDA if you want one before we go further. We ask about the business, the systems you run, how long you've used them, and what you want to protect. We do not ask for a file, a login, or an export.

  2. 02

    Data Inventory

We turn that conversation into one row per system: the tool, the kind of record, the date range, an approximate volume, the owner, and a first cut of what is clearly in scope or out. Still no files. The inventory is a map, not a transfer.

  3. 03

    Fit and path

You get a plain answer. There may be a fit for an introduction to one buyer, chosen for the work, the industry and the kind of record. Or a separate preparation engagement. Or not now. “Not now” is a complete outcome.

  4. 04

    Written consent

Nothing proceeds without an authorized person's written agreement. If the path is an introduction, the writing names the buyer and states how Steamwire is paid. Preparation, when it is the right path, is a separate agreement.

  5. 05

    Execution

On an introduction, the buyer runs its own diligence, de-identification and agreement with you. We do not collect or handle your data. We stay available as your point of contact. On a preparation engagement, your own administrator runs the platform's native export. We then exclude, de-identify, review a sample by hand, and package to a documented standard.

One path

For any given company, we do one or the other.

Introductions and data preparation are distinct engagements with separate terms. The fit conversation tells you which one, if either, is the right engagement.

Path A

Introduction

The right buyer, introduced the right way. We match the company with one buyer and make the introduction only with written consent that names the buyer and how Steamwire is paid.

  • In this engagement, we never touch your data.
  • The buyer runs its own diligence and agreement with you.
  • We stay available as your point of contact.
Path B

Data preparation

A separate engagement. Inventory, an administrator-run native export, scoped exclusions, consistent pseudonymization, a human review of a sample, and a documented package.

  • Nothing is due from the company upfront.
  • Your administrator runs the export. You control what leaves.
  • The package includes a manifest, a data dictionary, provenance and checksums.

Or not now. That is a valid result of the inventory, not a soft no.

The inventory

What a Data Inventory row looks like.

One row per system. Each row is filled from the conversation. No files move to complete it.

Questions from operators

Do you buy our data?
No. Steamwire Labs is not the buyer. We help you understand what you have and, if it makes sense, introduce you to a buyer or prepare your data under a separate engagement.
Will you quote a number on the first call?
No. We don't quote figures on a first call, and we won't promise a payout. Buyers make offers; you decide.
Can the same company do both an introduction and a preparation engagement with you?
No. An introduction and a preparation engagement are separate. For a given company, we do one of them.
Who runs the export?
Your own administrator, using the platform's native export. No third-party app is installed in your workspace. Whether a platform's terms allow a given use is flagged for your counsel.

Start with the inventory, not a file.

A short call. No files, no logins, no obligation.
